Rich Toon is a trial lawyer. He has personally provided legal representation in over 1000 injury-related claims and is AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated (the highest level of professional excellence) through the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings service. Mr. Toon has been on the Super Lawyers list every year since 2013 (each year, no more than 5% of the lawyers in Oklahoma are selected to receive this honor). He is a licensed attorney in the United States Supreme Court, The United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit, The United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, Muskogee (Creek) Nation District Court, and all Federal and State Courts in Oklahoma. He has received local and national attention for his work. He is often asked to speak at seminars to large groups of trial lawyers and other groups on various legal issues. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, American Bar Association, Lawyers for Working Oklahomans, and Oklahoma Association for Justice.
Mr. Toon attended undergraduate studies at The University of Iowa until transferring and graduating with a B.A. from S.M.U. in Dallas, Texas in 1990. In 1991, he began law school at The University of Tulsa College of Law. During law school, he worked as a legal intern for the Federal Election Commission in Washington, D.C., and as a legal intern for State Insurance Fund in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1994, he graduated from The University of Tulsa College of Law. Since that time, he has practiced law. His primary practice areas involve wrongful death cases, insurance company bad faith claims, and complex litigation.
On the rare occasion he is not working, Mr. Toon enjoys the outdoors and training Billie Lou, his favorite fox red labrador retriever and TRON, his favorite rescue dog.
